Game Crashes when naming a ship the same name several times

I have found that the game will crash if you repeadly name a ship the same name but with different equipment. the game will tell you that it isn't a good Idea; but I find it muc easher then having a bunch of ships and trying to figure out what has what so have taken to nameing them like this fist letter for hull size next for speed in parsects, tehn hit points. Like this, H 7pc 30hp 10D for Huge hull, enough engins to move 7 parsects in one move and 30 hit points and 10 Defence; Because when I rename a ship the same name over and over saving it out with the same name but new stuff on it, the game will crash after a few times of renameing it with different stuff but the same name. I have taken to doing a quick save *before* creating a updated ship.
I am just a beginer however and have only been playing less then a week, although I have been a member for a few years, I only reciently started playing, DL, and then the day before yesterday I DL and had the CD for DA; but I don't like it because of how the spys work; because it increased the time required to win or even loos by a factor of 2 or more; because of setting the spys all individually and reading a lot, and I just like to play.
Any way I just though I would report the bug; so that maybe it will get fixed.

It is not a bug, it is how the games works.

And, the game even warned you that it was not a good idea.

I'm afraid you'll just have to get used to it.

Not really; becasue I figured out a work around, I just delet the ship before upgreading it instead of just making it obsolete. Another way is with the nameing convention I am now using I don't even need to rename them; because the names tell exactly what they have and such that way they all line up and I can customize a fleet by speed hit points and such. I do know that I need to start playing for shorter streatches because these 30-40+ hour sessions stright and then only getting 6 hours sleep and then getting up and only being up for about 2-6 hours before starting it all over again have worn me out. Go look at the times of my past 12 games which I played over 151 years since the 20th when I first installed this and started playing.
